Adventures in Real Estate: Winter Market
I’ll be the first to tell you, I love my job. There is something so rewarding about standing with a client in a property and seeing the look on their face when they realize this is the place they want to call their home. It’s one of the best feelings in the world as a real estate agent.
But, of course, like everything, even great jobs have their down falls or days that make you think “why me?”.
In my latest blog series “Adventures in Real Estate”, I’ll share with you some of the funny/unique things that have happened to me along the way. This job is not always as glamorous as HGTV makes it out to be.
A few winters back, I was showing a client townhouses on a snowy January day. We had some time pressures to find her a new home, so we plowed through with the tours despite the blistery weather. The tour was going well, until we got to the very last house. My client led the way down the basement steps to check out the additional storage and washer and dryer. Next thing I know, I slip on the steps and fall right into her – both of us landing in a heap on the basement floor. Smooth. Luckily either of us were hurt and she was able to laugh with me at my clumsiness.
Lesson learned: Even from a heap on the basement floor, you can always muster a laugh. And no matter what, take your shoes off on a winter showing, even if you think you’ve sufficiently dried them on the Welcome Mat.
